Did Y’all Know…

our focus this month is on IDSM and its key components, with a special emphasis on technology. To deepen our understanding, we’ve revisited our ‘Fund-it Fast Chats’ webisode titled ‘Real Talk About Microgrids’.

This webisode provides a comprehensive overview of microgrids and their functionalities. It also sheds light on the crucial role microgrids play in enhancing resiliency and potential cost savings for users.

July was an exciting month with four enriching editions of Technology Tuesdays! These editions, whether freshly published or retrieved from our archives, delve into the intricacies of IDSM technology. They provide insights on how it can bolster your clean energy goals. Don’t miss out!

Did Y’all Know…

IDSM Technology comes into play when we integrate or coordinate the delivery of at least three of: (1) energy efficiency (EE), (2) demand response (DR), (3) distributed generation (DG), (4) storage, (5) electric vehicle (EV) technologies, and (6) time-based rate programs. And when you think about it, there’s a lot of technology—tested and cutting-edge—that can fall under any one of those practices.

When we think about it, the coordination required to deliver IDSM demands cooperation, understanding, and balance. Everyone and everything has to play their part just so. To achieve a true IDSM approach for portfolios technologies have to be in sync or, as it were, *NSYNC.

Energy Efficiency, a fundamental component of IDSM technology, is not just the cornerstone of our work but also a powerful tool that aids our communities in achieving their clean energy aspirations. To extend this support, we’ve initiated the “SoCalREN Measure Campaign.” This campaign presents opportunities for public agencies in SCE and/or SCG territory. By joining SoCalREN, you can take advantage of these offerings at minimal or no cost! Explore these opportunities by clicking below.

Electric vehicle technologies, another key component of IDSM, have seen a significant surge in opportunities in recent years. Thanks to local, state, and federal programs, electric vehicles have become increasingly accessible to residents across the state. To further promote EV adoption, both PG&E and SCE have introduced the “Pre-Owned EV Rebate Program”. Depending on your income level, these programs offer a rebate of $1,000 or $4,000 on the purchase of a qualified pre-owned electric vehicle. For a comprehensive understanding of the Pre-Owned Electric Vehicle Rebate Program, do check out our info session with PG&E!
