Organizations, governments, and residents of this big, beautiful globe have stated celebrating ‘earth month’ as an outgrowth of today, Earth Day! Growing concern for a changing planet and passion to raise awareness drive the efforts of our clean energy industry. 

This edition of the WFH Bundle looks a little different—we wanted to highlight our friends and other industry leaders who make a difference every single day and share their lessons for how you can join the fight.

U.S. Department of Energy Earth Day: Restore Our Earth: As we celebrate Earth Month throughout April, and Earth Day on April 22, the Department of Energy is combating the climate crisis, with the powerhouses of the National Laboratories, research funding, and expert scientists bringing everyone to the table to make sure no one is left behind as we invest in cutting-edge clean energy tech and infrastructure improvements.

Energy Efficiency is Great News for Earth Day: ACEEE covers the variety of ways that EE connects to Earth Day! From a four-part video series (Live Well with Energy Efficiency) to an interview with the first organizer of Earth Day, they want to educate AND celebrate!

Five Energy Savings Tips for Earth Day: While there are many great ways you can get involved on behalf of the environment on Earth Day, including planting a tree or committing to not driving for the day, some of the most beneficial ways you can help relate to your home’s energy use.

Edison Volunteers Dig In at State Parks Earth Day: Nearly 100 Edison International volunteers in bright yellow shirts honored Earth Day, joining local residents at three state parks for the CA State Parks Foundation’s 21st annual Earth Day Restoration and Cleanup. Edison International, SCE’s parent company, awarded $15,000 in grants in 2019 to support restoration and cleanup activities at the state park foundation’s three sites in the utility’s service area.

Drive Electric Earth Day: April 1-30, 2021, is a nationwide celebration to raise awareness of the many benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. They are fun to drive, are less expensive and more convenient to fuel than gasoline vehicles, are better for the environment, promote local jobs, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Join us on June 2nd for our first SJVCEO for All meeting!  Network with your peers, learn about new utility programs to help you save energy and money at your facilities, better understand how to take advantage of resources and funding to better serve your community.  The meeting is open to all public agencies throughout Kern, Tulare, Kings Fresno, Madera, Merced, Monterey, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and eastern San Bernardino counties.
