SJVCEO's October Learning Bundle
Green Business Network Visiting Your Community
SJVCEO will be out in the communities of Visalia and Hanford in the first few weeks of November. We will be visiting local businesses to see how we can help them to save energy and learn more about becoming a certified green business. Should you have local business that you would like us to visit or that may interested please reach out and let us know. We look forward to connecting with our central valley businesses.

Heat Pump Water Heaters (we can’t get enough!)
Oh, the humble heat pump water heater (HPWH), once a novelty for the very early adopters is now the hero of electrification, and just celebrated its very first “day” on October 26th. #Heatpumpitup asked the world to share their love stories, insights on energy and carbon savings, cost information and so much more to build the community and celebrate this quiet, but powerful banner carrier for building electrification. In order to celebrate this fantastic piece of equipment, we have centered our #OctoberSpotify theme to be just that! Click below to check it out!
SCE’s First Annual Multicultural Event
A few weeks ago the SJVCEO had the pleasure of attending SCE’s first annual multicultural event at the Energy Education Center in Tulare, CA. Our Executive Director, Courtney Blore Kalashian was featured as the event’s emcee and guided the program throughout the morning. The event was a massive success, showcasing the various cultures that make up the Central Valley. Check out our #BLOGEE to see more photos and highlights!
“Resilient Together” with PG&E
Resilient Together is an initiative by PG&E to convene community-based organizations (like the SJVCEO!) to learn about how communities are impacted by extreme heat, flooding, and wildfires. PG&E’s Climate Vulnerability Assessment explores how climate change, and the resulting increase in extreme weather, impact energy infrastructure and communities. By understanding communities’ response to and need during today’s extreme weather events, PG&E can plan for a more climate-resilient future!
PG&E is seeking your input to ensure that as climate hazards increase in frequency and severity, those who are most vulnerable have access to services and resources that keep community members safe. Click the button below to fill out a quick survey to ensure that your voice is heard!
