Gearing up for Energy Efficiency Day!
Save Money. Cut Pollution. Create Jobs.
#EEDay2020
What Is EE Day?
National Energy Efficiency Day’s message is simple: “Save Money. Cut Pollution. Create Jobs.” Since the inaugural Energy Efficiency Day in 2016, this annual awareness event has been supported by hundreds of prominent organizations, companies, government agencies and others. The goal is to share tips, tools and stories that promote the multiple benefits of energy efficiency, from lower costs to healthier homes. Energy efficiency is the cheapest, quickest way to meet our energy needs, cut consumer bills and reduce pollution. Energy efficiency is also an economic engine, supporting more than 2.4 million jobs nationwide in manufacturing, construction, and other fields – most of which cannot be outsourced overseas.
Health Impacts of Energy Efficiency
In a new three-part video series, ACEEE explores how energy efficiency can improve people’s health. We hear the stories of homeowners in three states.
Part 1: To look at efficiency’s impact in rural areas, Part One takes us to McDowell County, W.Va
Part 2: To look at its effect in urban areas, Part Two takes us to Baltimore, MD.
Part 3: Part Three takes us to Pittsburgh, PA.
Community Action Planning for Energy Efficiency (CAPEE)
CAPEE was built specifically for those “energy champions” faced with limited bandwidth, resources, or expertise to tackle the many energy issues facing their communities. It will provide diagnostics and a path forward for specific issues facing your community. This tool will guide you on your journey, with step-by-step practical advice to turn your information and intention into action.
Faces of EE
Energy efficiency (EE) provides an array of proven benefits, including massive-scale job creation. Faces of EE educates decision makers about: the U.S. EE industry comprising millions of jobs; and smart policy approaches that mean lasting benefits for all Americans.
Local Government & EE Day
Investing in energy efficiency opportunities is a great way for a local government to save money on energy and water utility costs and demonstrate leadership to the community it serves. As the federal government stalls and reverses efficiency standards and fails to act in the fight against climate change, states and cities are stepping up. Local governments across the country are making commitments to clean energy and energy efficiency, and their impacts are enormous. Nevertheless, we need to do more.
