In addition to utility-funded energy efficiency rebates and incentives, there are several opportunities through statewide programs:
Comfortably CA Comfortably CA offers resources and incentives to distributors, manufacturers, and retailers. These incentives help to encourage the sale of high-efficiency HVAC equipment. The program also serves as a resource for contractors and technicians to receive the necessary training, at no cost, to support the adoption of new energy-efficient technologies into the market.
Golden State Rebates The Golden State Rebates website is a resource for consumers to get instant rebates in the form of coupons on qualifying energy-efficient products such as thermostats, air conditioners, and water heaters that can be used at several different retail locations.
The Switch Is On The Switch Is On is a resource for residential customers to assist them with making the switch to an electric home. The program helps residents identify opportunities for money savings for the purchase of energy-efficient electric appliances for their homes. Fuel switching appliances include space heating and cooling, water heating, and cooking appliances.
Customers have the option to stack some rebates and incentives with state, city, and IRA incentives for added savings. More information on how to stack these incentives with available tax credits can be found here. Additionally, there are opportunities for income-qualified customers here.
Multifamily energy savings is nothing to be overlooked. These opportunities help both building owner/operators as well as residents and with rising rent costs, every bit of savings is a good thing!
