Public Safety with Kettleman City

Over the years, the SJVCEO has attended countless community events throughout the San Joaquin Valley and just last week one of our very favorites occurred.

The Kettleman City Public Safety Event is an annual event that has become a staple in the community, one that residents look forward to each year. Due to SJVCEO’s long-term partnership with Kings County, which hosts the event, we take pride in participating each year and have done so for many years. It is a time for us to go out into the community, provide them with IOU resources and see what we can do to support them.

This year, we focused primarily on PG&E programs ranging from:

  • CARE

  • FERA

  • Medical Baseline

  • PG&E Electric Vehicle Rebate Program

  • PG&E Electric Charging Rebate Program

The Public Safety event is essential to this community because it provides a venue for residents to interact with public service personnel outside of the occurrence of an emergency. It is also important because the information provided here is meant to reduce the likelihood of an emergency. For these reasons, this event has always been a wonderful opportunity because it provides a captive audience, one that is already primed to receive information to educate about energy programs and services!

This event has grown to amazing proportions through this individual's work, and many of the resources provided are all at little or no cost to the City or County because organizations have been so eager to donate items in support of this event. Items such as flu and COVID shots, car seat checks, COVID tests, and food packages from the local food bank, among other items, were made available to residents,

We look forward to the Public Safety Event in 2025 and can’t wait to see what is in store for Kettleman City!
