the SJVCEO celebrated a fantastic and exciting milestone! We hosted our 60th Fund-It Fast Chat webisode. What started as a conversation about funding your energy projects, the Fund-It Fast Chat has expanded into its own community and we are so thankful that you all are a part of it with us! For this celebratory event- our Energy Manager Rochelle Butler and our special guest Steven Clarke dove into EV procurement and planning (which has been a source of tremendous stress for many of our partners). Whether you are trying to figure out LCFS credits, fair pricing for fleet vehicles, timeline considerations, charging equipment and location, or funding, we’ve got answers for you!
What’s Next for the Fund-It Fast Chat? We have some exciting opportunities in June for you all! Since most of you will (hopefully) be attending the annual CCEC Conference in June, we will be hosting our June FIFC a week early on June 6th so y’all don’t miss it! What is the topic for this month? We are focusing on all things CEDA. The California Energy Design Assistance Program or CEDA provides a complimentary and comprehensive analysis of different energy efficiency options and lays out their potential energy savings and incentives tailored to your specific project. We have not one but TWO opportunities for you to learn more about this program and how it can best serve you.
Part 1: Fund-It Fast Chat High Level Overview of the CEDA Program
June 6th, 10am-10:20am

Part 2: Deep Dive into the CEDA Program
June 20th, 10am-11am

the running joke of #steamtrapqueens may be something we love with a certain level of ridiculousness, the actual opportunities to use efficient steam traps to save energy and money is very much real.
So, what the heck is a steam trap? In the simplest terms a steam trap is an automatic valve. But leaks in that system cost money and reduce operational efficiency. As in all things energy efficiency related, when you waste energy you don’t need to you pay money you don’t have to. Learn more here!

the 14th Annual California Climate & Energy Forum is less than two weeks away! This year’s forum “Investment, Innovation, and Inclusion: Locals Leading a Clean Energy, Climate-Stable Future for All” we will explore local practices and timely topics, such as ensuring the recent windfall of policy investments are used to foster lasting impact and help address the most pressing local emissions and energy resiliency needs in an inclusive and culturally competent way. Learn more about the forum here and be sure to attend the “Existing Building Electrification: A Message of Hope and Action” session featuring our very own Rochelle Butler!
this same week, the SJVCEO will also be attending the National Energy and Utility Affordability Coalition Conference! NEUAC is a broad-based coalition of diverse member organizations and individuals dedicated to heightening awareness of the energy needs of low-income energy consumers, fostering public-private partnerships and engaging in other activities to help address these needs. Our Executive Director, Courtney Blore Kalashian will be speaking on the panel session “Elevating and Equitably Engaging Hard-to-Reach Populations” which will provide evidence-based insights for local governments, utilities, implementors, and affordability advocates to more meaningfully listen to, and engage with, their underserved constituents and customers.

exciting news! A Proposed Decision on A.22-02-005 was issued on May 26, 2023 and the RuralREN motion for application was approved, pending Commission vote on the final Decision. In celebration of this, we want to bring back focus to a series released a couple of years back called "Rural Voices.” In 2021, the members of Rural-Hard-to Reach Working Group (RHTR) gathered to author perspectives and insights on what it means to serve rural communities in California and share best practices. This past month we rereleased some (not all) of these articles to refresh your memory and knowledge of our rural communities. Check some of them out below:
