SJVCEO hosted our August Fund-It Fast Chat just this week! We pivoted slightly this month and chose a topic that is imperative to our communities. The COVID-19 Pandemic caused immeasurable financial strain for small businesses, especially in our most vulnerable communities. Investor Owned Utilities (IOUs) paused payments to take some of the pressure off while we were facing unprecedented closures so that small businesses would have a better chance of surviving. But now what? We were joined by Ashleigh Servadio of Willdan who dove into the Small Business Opportunities (SBO) Program. The SBO Program provides assistance in the form of no-cost energy audits and access to energy savings measures to help reduce energy bills. Check out the video on our website or Youtube channel and share with your colleagues or small business contacts!

we have an exciting series coming to you all VERY soon! In partnership with PG&E, the SJVCEO will be releasing a new vlog series surrounding all things EV! We will be sitting down with PG&E (and some special guests) to dive into their current offerings for residents, small businesses, and even multifamily or affordable housing customers.
As the Pre-Owned Electric Vehicle program continues to be a great success for PG&E, we are excited to start community education on the newly launched Multifamily Housing and Small Business EV Charger Program. Through this program, PG&E, in partnership with Ecology Action, will install Level 1 and Level 2 EV chargers at multifamily housing (MFH) units, not-for-profit organizations and small businesses, at no cost for sites located in a priority community. The program includes an education campaign for site residents and employees to increase awareness about the charger installation and other EV benefits and incentives. Stay tuned for more exciting information in the coming weeks!

as EVs gain popularity, residents will require access to charging infrastructure. While communities and businesses are making clean mobility options more readily available in public spaces, tenants should enjoy access to the convenience of charging at home. If your community has a multifamily property owner or manager that may be interested, here are the details from the Multifamily EV Connect Program: Receive $2,500 per charger, up to six per property, when you install L1 or L2 electric vehicle (EV) chargers. Eligible properties must receive electric service from SCE and be in a disadvantaged community (DAC) ZIP code.

just last week, the SJVCEO was back on the road conducting energy assessments for one of our enrolled Central California Energy Watch partners. While we are out auditing parks, fire departments, government centers, or even libraries- there is always something new and exciting that we discover at each of the sites we visit. These walk-through audits, allow us to not only collect equipment information but it always allows us to establish a connection with the folks that know the ins and outs of these facilities. Check out some highlights from our day at the beautiful Lake Nacimiento!
