Celebrating Energy Efficiency Month in Our Communities!
In Case You Missed It: October is #EnergyEfficiency month! And there’s no better way to celebrate than with our own communities! The SJVCEO was all across Kings and Tulare counties last week attending community events, sharing utility program information with residents, and connecting with our county libraries.
Kings and Tulare County Master Plan on Aging
To start off the day (October 19th), the SJVCEO was on the road heading to Visalia, CA for the Kings and Tulare County Master Plan on Aging meeting. Residents of the county gathered to hear from county committees and representatives on the creation of the master plan followed by a community resource fair. The SJVCEO connected with our community members and shared various utility programs offerings; from medical baseline to income qualified programs to electric vehicle rebate programs.
Kings County Library Tour!
After we wrapped up this event, we were back on the road heading to Kings County! One of the activities for our PG&E EV Outreach program is to educate our communities on the multiple EV programs that PG&E is offering. While some of our rural hard-to-reach communities do not have consistent access to broadband internet, we resorted back to the traditional ways of outreach. We are collaborating with our county libraries to house and distribute PG&E EV program information at their applicable sites. County libraries serve as community hubs or gathering places for residents to learn about what is going on in their own backyard. Last week, we visited 4 libraries in Kings County (Corcoran, Lemoore, Hanford, and Kettleman City) to share flyers and program information for PG&E’s Pre-Owned Electric Vehicle Rebate Program and PG&E’s Multifamily Small Business Direct Install Program. If you are in the neighborhood, be sure to check them out!
Kettleman City Public Safety Event!
We wrapped up the day at one of our favorite events of the year, the Kettleman City Public Safety Event! The SJVCEO has attended this event for many years and every year it gets better and better! County staff cooking for their community members, flu shots and covid vaccines, and various community resources (like us) in attendance, we hope that this year’s event brought a sense of community and connection to our Valley residents. For this event, we shared PG&E specific information with residents and Kings and Tulare Green Business content!
