This month, we’re focusing on Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), and today we want to put a spotlight on a particular DER: electric vehicles (EVs). In our Technology Tuesdays edition for August, we explored how DERs, like EVs, enhance resiliency, cost savings, and energy efficiency.
In connection to our spotlight on EVs,we recently interviewed Alexandria, PG&E’s Program Manager for the Residential Charging Solutions program. This initiative offers a $700 rebate on PG&E-approved EV charging equipment to income-eligible households, aiming to support residential EV charging while minimizing costly electrical upgrades.
Our goal is to make electric vehicles accessible and affordable for residents of the San Joaquin Valley and furthermore, all of California. PG&E’s programs are making this goal increasingly attainable. Through our info sessions, we highlight active PG&E EV programs that provide financial and technical assistance, helping customers embark on their electric vehicle journey. This is just the first step in bringing program opportunities to our communities and paving the way for electric vehicles in the region.
