June Spotify | On the Road Again!
After our years working this space, it feels like we are qualified to say the move towards alternative transportation is much like the quote about falling love, “…slowly, and then all at once.” Where one day we were hosting empty ride and drives with the second generation of the Priuses and in the blink of an eye--or the course of a decade and half—every other car on our recent road trip to LA was an electric vehicle of one type or another.
And while it does feel like it happened all at once, we know there’s been years of work by our colleagues to get us here. …

As summer descends the SJVCEO team looks to the open road for a little adventure, a lot of laughs, and a few good pools! Of course, getting there is half the fun, and while the four of us could easily talk the hours away it’s always smart to have a new playlist on standby. For a group of women who have put out over 30 playlists one would think we could just pull from the archives, but no. We’re so much more extra than that!
This ode to the open road comes to you while we’re on our own road trip. Likely having listened to this a few times through, thoroughly sun soaked, and totally blissed out at our inaugural “Poolsite” planning retreat. And as the say, it’s more the journey than the destination, and if that holds true this playlist should make for an excellent soundtrack!
Here I Go Again, Whitesnake
Wildest Dreams, Taylor Swift
Breakdown, Jack Johnson
Ride Wit Me, Nelly, City Spud
Sam’s Picks:
Let the official start to road trip season begin! There is nothing better than hitting the road during the summer and blasting your favorite tunes. For me I like a mix of old and new to keep me entertained and the car karaoke going. So, enjoy and don’t be afraid to entertain the drivers around you with a performance to the playlist.
Boys of Summer, Don Henley
Africa, TOTO
Starships, Nicki Minaj
Who Knows, Mike Posner
Kelsey’s Picks:
While most people qualify road trip songs to fall into a certain category, I think each and every song can be a “road trip” song strictly because I enjoy belting out song lyrics no matter if the drive is two minutes or two hours! Below you will find a nice mix of song of my favorite songs that always make a road trip that much more enjoyable.
Cold Water, Major Lazer, Justin Bieber
Night Changes, One Direction
Music For a Sushi Restaurant, Harry Styles
Emo Girl, Machine Gun Kelly and Willow
Rochelle’s Picks:
I may have taken this month’s theme quite literally, but it just so happens that some of my favorite road trips song are, in fact, about cars. No newbies here, all classics and all different genres because I love to mix it up when I am on the road.
Fast Car, Tracy Chapman
Sittin in My Car, Slick Rick
(Get Your Kicks On) Route 66, Nat King Cole
Little Red Corvette, Prince
