1. CAL FIRE Forest Health Grant
Who: Local, state, and federal public agencies; Native American tribes; universities; special districts; industrial and nonindustrial private forest landowners; and non-profit organizations
What: CAL FIRE’s Forest Health Program funds active restoration and reforestation activities aimed at providing for more resilient and sustained forests to ensure future existence of forests in California while also mitigating climate change, protecting communities from fire risk, strengthening rural economies and improving California’s water & air.
When: Application due March 4th, 2022
How Much: Total program amount: $120,000,000 ($750,000 – $5,000,000 per project)
2. Small Community Clean Water/Wastewater (SCWW) Funding
Who: Nonprofit Public Agency Tribal Government- Applicants must serve small (less than 20,000) communities qualifying as a DAC or SDAC.
What: The purpose of wastewater planning funding is to provide low-interest loans, grants, and principal forgiveness to small, disadvantaged communities for planning/design and construction of projects that restore and maintain water quality in the state.
When: Ongoing application
How Much: Total program funding- $110,000,000

3. Rural eConnectivity Program
Who: City or township governments, state governments, small businesses, independent school districts, county governments, special districts, Native American tribal organizations, 501 (c) (3) nonprofits (see full list here)
What: The Rural eConnectivity Program (ReConnect) Program provides loans, grants, and loan/grant combinations to facilitate broadband deployment in rural areas. In facilitating the expansion of broadband services and infrastructure, the program will fuel long-term economic development and opportunities in rural America.
When: Application due on February 22nd, 2022
How Much: Total program funding- $1,150,000,000 (award ceiling $35,000,000 and award floor $100,000)
