May Spotify | Living and LANGUISHING
How come after more than a year of opining our locked down way of life we struggle to move out of it?

Courtney’s Picks:
I have a habit of measuring progress against various check lists. Whether it’s a to-do for a project or grocery shopping completeness gets computed by lines and checks. Sometimes, in the early days of COVID lists looked more like survival than success, “get up, shower, put on real clothes, scour internet for Clorox wipes, hide in hall closet and scream into the void…” but every day, no matter how redundant, had a sense of being done. Now, at the precipice of some form of doneness zeitgeist, those last steps—how we transition from always being apart to being together—have no discernable box to check. For those who live by steps and checks, how do we know when we’ve moved on or judge that we’re resolutely languishing in this ending time?
The World Has Turned and Left Me Here, Weezer
A Classic Art Showcase¸ …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead
Smile Like You Mean It, The Killers
Dammit, blink 182
Sam’s Picks:
My four song choices encompass how my brain has felt over the last few months. I know I’m not the only one in the boat of COVID exhaustion. Let’s all take a moment to be in our feelings and look toward the light at the end of the tunnel.
Caught in the Fire, Bazzi
I Don’t Care, Ed Sheeran featuring Justin Bieber
Self-Care, Mac Miller
Pardon Me, Incubus
Kelsey’s Picks:
I would personally like to thank Courtney for choosing this theme and allowing me to dig into my archived playlist entitled “angst.” While I would love to provide you all with the playlist in its entirety, I think the four songs below encompass it perfectly. As we begin exiting out of a state of languish, let’s revel in it just until this playlist ends!
The Middle, Jimmy Eat World
In Too Deep, Sum 41
Bring Me To Life, Evanescence
How Far We’ve Come, Matchbox Twenty
Rochelle’s Picks:
These last few months I have languished. It feels like the world may come back to normal, and yet I find myself abnormally excited for something as small as coming into the office one a week. With the idea of normal within sight, yet not wiling grasp the final stretch of time is excruciating!
Tired of Being Alone, Al Green
Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart, Alicia Keys
Red House, Jimi Hendrix
Give Me One Reason, Tracy Chapman
