2020 Wins with SoCalREN!

While 2020 was a year filled with challenges and uncertainty, our partnership with the Southern California Regional Energy Network (SoCalREN) brought many victories. SJVCEO has continued to work with The Energy Coalition (TEC) as subconsultant for regional public agency engagement, outreach and implementation support for the SoCalREN Public Agency Programs. This work will be continued in both the San Joaquin Valley area being served by Southern California Edison as well as the High Desert region into the new year!

San Joaquin Valley Highlights:
Over the last year SJVCEO has enrolled 5 agencies with SoCalREN within the San Joaquin Valley: City of Hanford, City of Farmersville, City of Lindsay, City of Tulare, and City of Woodlake. Of those 5 agencies that have enrolled, 2 have completed Comparative Energy Analysis and completed Green Button Connect which allows the agency to have a deep dive into energy usage in all infrastructure. We are currently working on two pumping projects for two agencies as well as a whole building EE approach for another. We hope the momentum continues into 2021.

High Desert Highlights
Over the last year, SJVCEO has enrolled 2 agencies with SoCalREN in the High Desert region: City of Adelanto and City of Victorville. Of those 2 agencies that have enrolled, 1 has completed Comparative Energy Analysis and completed Green Button Connect, giving them deep insights into energy usage in all infrastructure. For the other agency in the High Desert Region, we are currently looking to do audits of multiple facilities. Once we can have staff on hand with COVID-19 protocol we will get the ball rolling.

Outreach Accomplishments:
Due to the transition this year, most of our outreach (including this one) has been all digital! We covered all the bases to distribute resources and opportunities to partners offered by the SJVCEO and SoCalREN. From our WFH Learning Bundles, to Twitter updates, to participating in “Conversations with SoCalREN” our partnership was able to successfully adjust to the digital world and enhance our engagement!
